Brown Sugar & Honey Face Mask!

Honey is like a miracle drug, In ancient times, Egyptians sacrificed honey by the tons to their river gods, Roman legions slathered honey on the wounds as a natural cure to promote healing, and medieval lords reserved honey for their private use. It's told that the body of Alexander the Great was preserved and embalmed with honey. Historically, honey has been used by humans to treat a variety of ailments, from gastric disturbances to ulcers, wounds and burns, through ingestion or topical application, but only recently have the antiseptic and antibacterial properties of honey been chemically explained.
  • Facts: Honey has anti microbial properties, anti oxidants and at the same time, is sticky (which is beneficial). This stickiness pulls away the dust, dead skin, microbes etc. from the pores while the anti microbial properties do not let the skin infected again. The anti oxidants in it helps make the skin look younger and last but not the least, the wax in it makes the skin smooth, shiny, moist and glowing. Isn’t that great?
Brown Sugar
Skin that is regularly exfoliated is healthier skin, both in appearance and function. Cleansed of dead skin, the largest organ can circulate more efficiently, breathing in good nourishment and expelling toxins. It also glows, is more uniform in appearance with tighter pores, and is soft to the touch.
Exfoliating with a sugar scrub doesn't relax the muscles, the way salt does, but it relaxes the mind with its delicious smell. Sugar is also full of glycolic acid, an alpha-hydroxy acid that is crucial for maintaining healthy skin and is usually a key ingredient in pricey products. The natural glycolic acid in sugar not only helps condition and moisturize skin, but protect it from toxins.
Far from clogging the skin, sugar works well to cleanse completely, so it can not only reduce any current body acne you may have, it can also help prevent further breakouts

Caution: Those who are allergic to topical application of honey should keep away

Step 1. Wash your face with something extremely mild, opening pores is important for this mask to allow all of the ingredients to permeate. Use the hottest water you can stand to wash your face. DO NOT DRY IT WITH A TOWEL. While you make your mask your face will dry then, leaving the perfect amount of moisture.

Step 2. Gather about 2 to 3 tablespoons of brown sugar depending on how grainy you want the mask to be. I like my Brown Sugar to mask the honey so there's a huge ratio difference

Step 3. Add about a table spoon of honey, I used regular clover honey but whatever you have on hand will do the trick!

Step 4. Slather that wonderful mix all over your face!

Step 5. Lightly massage your face in short circles for half a minute or so, leave the mask on!

Step 6. The mix left on your hand is GREAT for a quick hand scrub!! So before rinsing it off massage your hands together to get off all of those yucky dead skin cells then rinse!

Step 7. Leave the mask on as long as you want, just don't let it exceed half and hour. I have had mine on for about 15 minutes so far.

Step 8. Before rinsing, wet hands and massage face again for half a minute

Step 9. RINSE! As you're rinsing make sure to massage your face more to not only make the deapplication process easier but to get all that extra dead skin off.

Step 10. Moisturize!
I will be using Philosophy's Miracle Worker!

    1. Miranda I always use two headbands when I do facemasks, you should try it! Im glad your dry skin is gone. Drink tons of water, use moisturizer with little to no perfume and do a simple honey mask 4 times a week. Only do the brown sugar and honey mix once a week. Take care <3
